An IBCLC is a health care professional specialized in lactation and certified by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners. Lactation consultants on the OSB team are also nurses.

A doula is a non-medical professional who provides support, education, and care to pregnant, birthing and post-partum people. Doulas on the OSB team have extensive training in breastfeeding support, and are working towards IBCLC certification.

Jocelyn graduated from the University of New Brunswick’s Bachelor of Nursing Program in 2007. Jocelyn worked in a variety of health care settings before specializing in perinatal nursing in 2011, and has advanced skill and training in lactation and fetal health surveillance.

Jocelyn became an IBCLC in 2015, and is experienced providing lactation support in immediate post-partum, well baby, community, neonatal intensive care, and acute care pediatric settings; she is also well-versed in the implementation of policies and systems that support families to successfully feed their babies.

Jocelyn and her partner live on a hobby farm in Grey County, where they work on increasing self-sufficient food production. As a mother of four, she knows the tears of spilled milk and the ease of solving angry toddler problems with nursing.

"There are many good ways to feed your baby, but successful breastfeeding is not only physiologically normal - it is food security, immune system support, and resiliency. I want to see babies thrive and mothers feel empowered."
